Ceecorp
south pacific hospital curl curl
A project to modernise hospital facilities and significantly expand the operational footprint of the hospital, all without ceasing hospital operations. The sensitive nature of the hospital’s work required strict confidentiality and compliance processes to be implemented throughout the works.
Ceecorp undertook the initial partial demolition of the hospital. The concrete structures were demolished using non-vibration techniques so as not to interrupt the ongoing operation of the hospital.
The footprint of the expansion project also required a 9m excavation in class 1 and 2 sandstone. Ceecorp undertook the bulk and detail excavation for the building foundations and tanks using non-vibration techniques. In particular, use of diamond saws facilitated cutting and removal of rock that needed to be excavated without displacing or affecting rock underneath the remaining elements of the hospital.
